jake.jpg

Jake Kolb grew up in Eastern Montana on a family farm and ranch, and has an associate degree in Electronics Technology from DeVry Institute of Technology. Jake worked in California and Idaho for several years, and moved back to Montana in 2008. Since being back, Jake works as a purchasing agent in Missoula, and has been involved in 4-H and equine activities to aid his daughter in her love for horses - this brought Jake to Willowbend Farms, where he met Jeff and Darlene Patterson. Jake was amazed at how much his daughter learned about herself and the horses. Over the years, Jake has been a member of several non-profit groups, and is always willing to help. Jake has been the Horsepower Inc treasurer since December of 2019.

mariah.jpg

Mariah Fredrickson moved to Missoula, Montana in 2010, and obtained a BA in social work from the University of Montana. She has always had a passion for horses and animals, but that passion grew greatly when she went through the six-week Herd 2 Human program in 2016. Mariah graduated the H2H program with a group of strong women who had experienced some sort of extreme trauma in their lifetime. Mariah soon started taking riding lessons at Willowbend Farm from Darlene Patterson. Willowbend Farm quickly became Mariah’s second home, and Mariah got more involved by serving as Horsepower Inc’s Secretary. She has spent the past five years working with youth as a Juvenile House Arrest Officer, and has a dream of connecting troubled youth with equine therapy programs like Herd 2 Human. Mariah swears that there is nothing more powerful than equine therapy, and often talks about how the horses in Herd 2 Human saved her life.
